Woman charged with assaulting ex-boyfriend

Handorf
A Marshalltown woman was arrested and taken to Marshall County Jail by the Marshalltown Police Department earlier this week after assaulting her ex-boyfriend.
Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Rolling Meadows Road. Upon further investigation, officers determined Jillissa Sue Handorf, 39, struck her ex-boyfriend in the face causing an injury, according to criminal complaints and affidavits filed in Marshall County District Court. She was charged with domestic abuse assault.
Those documents also showed the defendant and victim were arguing when she shoved him, then hit him on the face with a ring on her finger. The defendant then kicked the victim in the back twice as he was trying to exit the residence. Additionally, the defendant was also charged with interference with official acts.
A Marshall County District Court Magistrate issued a no contact order, meaning the defendant can not contact the victim. Handorf’s preliminary hearing is Oct. 29.
