T-R PHOTO BY GARRY BRANDENBURG - Double time harvest rate makes this corn field go much quicker.  The duo was one mile south of Laurel on Nov. 1.  Corn harvest across Iowa is in high gear to get as much completed before weekend rains appear.

T-R PHOTO BY GARRY BRANDENBURG - A grain cart near Grundy Center gets filled up on the move as a combine takes out corn.  Tracks on the tractor pulling the grain cart and on the cart help reduce soil compaction from heavy equipment.  Soft spots in some fields, not this one, may require the combine operator to back out before its wheels get stuck.
