A Marshalltown woman was arrested by Marshalltown police and taken to Marshall County Jail

earlier this week on charges of domestic abuse assault-first offense.

Raelene Elizabeth Needham, 29, was found to be primary aggressor in an incident in the 1000 block of West Boone Street, according to a criminal complaint and affidavit filed in Marshall County District Court. The complaint said the defendant punched the victim in the mouth. Because the assault took place in front of minor child, child endangerment charges were also filed against the defendant.

A magistrate appointed a public defender to represent the defendant, and also issued a no contact order, meaning the defendant can not contact the victim. Needham’s preliminary hearing is Dec. 22.
