Bartlett

Lorrie Ann Bartlett, 53, of Marshalltown was arrested by local police Wednesday on a warrant and taken to Marshall County Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, according to court documents.

Bartlett hit the victim in the head and back with a baseball bat causing a minor injury, according to the criminal complaint. It was unclear at press time if the victim required medical attention. At her initial appearance, a magistrate issued a no-contact order to protect the victim and appointed a public defender to represent Bartlett.

She was ordered to be held in jail without bond. Her preliminary hearing is Oct. 7.
