The City of Marshalltown is accepting letters of interest from 1st Ward residents interested in filling a vacancy in that City Council position. The term will start on Jan. 2, 2021 and end with the certification of 2021 election results of the 1st Ward Council member in November 2021.

Letters should be addressed to Mayor Joel Greer and sent via email to clerk@marshalltown-ia.gov or mailed to or dropped off at City Hall, 24 N. Center St., Marshalltown, Iowa, 50158. Identify the name and address and why the person is interested in the 1st Ward City Council appointment. All letters of interest must be received no later than noon on Dec. 9.

The City Council will interview those interested in the position on Dec. 14 following the regular City Council meeting, with a resolution to confirm the appointment at the Dec. 28 City Council meeting.
