Thursday house fire deemed suspicious

First responders were called to a house fire at 105 W. Webster St. on Thursday.

When the Marshalltown Police Department arrived, smoke was coming from the roof. Marshalltown Fire Department personnel were told no one was in the building and smoke was visible from the soffits and roof vents.

Crews entered the structure and found fire conditions on the second floor. The fire was brought under control and extinguished in approximately 15 minutes. No injuries were reported.

The fire has been ruled suspicious and the investigation continues.
