UnityPoint Clinic — Express opens its new location, 1704 S. Center St., on Oct. 8. The clinic is next to Jimmy John’s near the intersection of Center and Olive streets.

The new Express clinic is moving from its current location inside the medical park just south of Highway 30. To accommodate the move, the current Express clinic will be closed Oct. 7. If the community needs immediate care, they’re encouraged to contact a primary care provider or go to the UnityPoint Health ER at the hospital downtown.

The new Express clinic offers a more accessible retail location for the community. In addition, it retains all the benefits associated with the Express care model, which places an emphasis on convenience and a more personal experience that has resulted in patient satisfaction scores ranking in the nation’s 99th percentile.

Express clinics average door-to-door times less than 30 minutes, plus they offer prescription medication for common illnesses on site and allow individuals to reserve their spots online at unitypoint.org/marshalltown, which shortens the time spent at the clinic.

“People are busy — work, school, kids’ activities and everything else that fills our day — and that makes it challenging to find time for health care,” said Carolyn Barko, regional vice president of clinic operations. “We’re pleased that our Express clinic offers another way to meet our patients’ needs and help them get the care they need to feel better and get back to their lives.”

UnityPoint Clinic — Express can treat non-emergency conditions such as cold, flu, sore throat and minor sports injuries as well as additional services such as school/sports physicals, flu shots and after-hours occupational health services. The clinic hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day, including holidays.
