BROOKLYN — The historic Brooklyn Opera House will be hosting the highly anticipated Best of Poweshiek County event at 7 p.m. on May 21. The concert will consist of local Poweshiek County country artists including Tyler Richton, Blake Jack, Jake Simon and Cody Hicks. Each artist will perform for 45 minutes in that order.

“The Best of Poweshiek County will be a fun event for the community to come together and celebrate the local talent within the county,” said Laura Manatt, general manager of the Brooklyn Opera House. “The Brooklyn Opera House continues to be at the heart of its community and this event will be a great way to kick-off the summer months.”

Following Cody Hicks’ performance, all the artists will come together for the finale.

Additional events at the opera house are also in the works, including summer youth theatre camp from June 13-17 for kids ages 7-16. Students will work with professionals to put on a performance of “Grimms Mixed Up.” The performance will be held June 17.
