MPD investigates car damage, asks residents to check cameras

The Marshalltown Police Department is investigating an incident during which multiple vehicles on the northwest side of town had their windows broken by rocks.

According to a social media post published by the MPD, they received several reports from community members last week about smashed car windows, and they believe the incidents took place in the early morning hours of June 12 and June 13.

The MPD attached a low-quality security video of the suspected vehicle — a large, dark colored car — to their post detailing the crime, and asked that residents in the area check their home cameras during the early hours of June 12 and 13 for any clearer footage of the vehicle or the suspects.

To report any information on the damage, contact the MPD at (641) 754-5725. To view the footage of the vehicle, visit https://fb.watch/dNVcg1xacb/.
