Tama County Fair is July 10-16

GLADBROOK — Each July, over 200 4-H and FFA members enter exhibits at the Tama County Fair. Ribbons and trophies are earned. Even more important, goals are met, lessons are learned and friendships are made.

The Tama County Livestock and Fair Association invites the public to come to the Tama County Fair this July 10-16. The Tama County Fairgrounds are located in Gladbrook.

* July 10 – Non-Livestock judging for 4-H members, FFA students and Clover Kids

* July 11 – Animals are entered, Pet Show, Dog Show and Opening Ceremony of the Fair which includes the Fair Challenge auction for the scholarship, Friend of the Fair and Scholarship Presentation and the Selection of the 2023 Tama County Fair Queen

* July 12 – Farm Credit Breakfast, Sheep Show, Gladbrook Library Story Time, Watermelon Feed sponsored by Tama Co. Soil and Water Conservation District, Tama County Naturalist Visit with Critters, Goat Show, Poultry Show, Ag Olympics sponsored by the Tama County Farm Bureau and Fashion Show

* July 13 – Dairy Show, Horse Show (Speed Events), Rabbit Show, Communications Event, fun with Tama County Master Gardeners and Agricultural Trivia Contest

* July 14 – Swine Show, Horse Show, Kiddie Tractor Pull (4-11 year old sponsored by the Tama County 4-H Council), Pee Wee Wranglers (sponsored by the Tama County Cattlemen), Clover Kid and 4-H/FFA dance

* July 15 – Beef Show and Fun Night

Each day there are kids’ crafts, scavenger hunts and make sure to check out the Kid’s Area by the Rabbit Barn. There is time to tour the exhibit buildings, livestock barns and make sure to grab a bite to eat which includes delicious pies and snow cones.
