With closure signs going up and construction equipment getting to work, the first phase of the Main Street project in Marshalltown officially began on Monday with the closure of Center Street between State Street and Church Street. The initial phase of the project is expected to last until mid-August, when the road should be reopened. Con-Struct of Marshalltown is serving as the general contractor on the project.
