Marshalltown man charged with human trafficking, pimping

A Marshalltown man was arrested Thursday and charged with human trafficking, pimping and pandering for prostitution as the result of an investigation that began in May.
According to a press release from the Marshalltown Police Department (MPD), the inquiry was initiated based on information received through the Iowa Department of Corrections. On Thursday, 23-year-old Johmell Keyshawn Rosemond was charged with human trafficking, a Class B felony, eight counts of pimping, each a Class D felony, three counts of pandering for prostitution, each a Class D felony and two counts of solicitation, each an aggravated misdemeanor.
The suspect is currently being held in the Marshall County Jail on a $25,000 bond for the human trafficking charge, $5,000 for each count of pimping, $5,000 for each count of pandering for prostitution and $2,000 for each count of solicitation. The press release indicated that the investigation remains active, and anyone who may have been a victim or has further information is encouraged to contact the MPD at 641-754-5730.
Rosemond is already a registered sex offender in the state of Iowa after being convicted of third degree sexual abuse in Story County in 2020.
