The Arts + Culture Alliance building at 126 W. Main St. was packed to the brim on Wednesday night for the first ever Songwriter’s Showcase featuring a quartet of Marshalltown musicians — Austin Chadderdon, Robert Maharry, Aaron Buzbee, also known by his stage name Buz Owen, and Becci Fleming. Chadderdon, Maharry and Buzbee told the stories behind several of their original songs before playing them, and Fleming performed a pair of duets written by Buzbee and Maharry, one with each of them.
