Blaine’s Heart of Gold Toy Drive underway

Blaine Fisher’s 8th Annual “Heart of Gold Toy Drive” is underway, running from Nov. 17 through the week of Dec. 1. Blaine has chosen to collect toys in lieu of getting gifts for his birthday. It started the year that the tornado hit Marshalltown. He collects gifts and toys for children from newborn to 18 years of age and turns them over to the Salvation Army for distribution. Toys can be dropped off at the following locations: Oliver Beene Designs at 214 E. Main St., the Marshalltown Police Department at 909 S. 2nd St., Citizens Savings Bank at 2414 S. 2nd St., REM Iowa at 21 S. 2nd Ave., Ma Brown’s Cookies and More at 2909 Jackie Terrace, Mid-Iowa Workshops at 909 S. 14th Ave., Bauder Consulting at 13 E. Southridge Rd. and The Groom Room at 108 N. Main St. in Conrad. Two new businesses have also joined this year, Shear Bliss at 102 N. Main St. in Conrad and Most Wanted Coffee at 231 N. 13th St. in Marshalltown. Blaine is pictured with Trina Crandon of Most Wanted Coffee in the above photo.
