PHOTOS BY ROBERT MAHARRY AND JASON WEGNER — An unexpected tragedy struck the residents at 1203 S. 3rd Ave. on Monday morning as the driver of a southbound vehicle lost control and hit the house, badly damaging the structure (which is considered a total loss) and coming out the back end.. According to sources on the scene, neither the driver of the vehicle nor the residents were injured, and the driver is believed to have suffered a medical emergency that caused the accident. The displaced residents will be staying with family members and working with their insurance provider to resolve the situation. Larry’s Towing, Tire and Lock Service handled the towing of the vehicle, and first responders from the Marshalltown Police Department and the Marshalltown Fire Department were on the scene.
