Jingle & Mingle Holiday Pop-Up set for 13th Street District tonight
Want to support local businesses and purchase unique items for the gifting season, while enjoying music and treats? If so, head out to the 13th Street District from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. today for the Jingle & Mingle Holiday Pop-Up.
All nine of its businesses will be open, with some having pop-up shops within their spaces.
“This is a really great example of the interaction with all the community members. It really does feel like an intimate and fun area that everybody is welcome in,” said 13th Street District Board President Heidi Draisey. “So the Jingle & Mingle is our wrap up of the year, our celebration of a wonderful event season and a chance to come together and celebrate holidays together. So we’re really excited to invite everybody down there.”
The following businesses will be open, offering refreshments, sales, specials, extended hours, and more:
Lillie Mae Chocolates, hosting J. Fors Designs: Custom Earrings and Burn and Branded Hats by Shelle.
The Flying Elbow will have Sprinkled Sweets by Nichole.
Most Wanted Coffee will stay open until 8 p.m.
Hermanson Orthodontics will be hosting Santa and Shanna Draper Video & Photo for complimentary pictures with Santa, plus serving complimentary cookies, hot cocoa and a festive adult cocktail.
C Eye Care will offer refreshments.
Newly opened Harvest to Home will feature Bakery 146 and offer 20% off all giftware in the store.
The Salvation Army Thrift Store will have a holiday table.
The Chop Shop will host Ellenbecker Creations with its crafty goods.
The Spot will not host a pop-up business due to space constraints, but will have special drinks for those age 21 and over.
“I am bringing some jolly delicious sourdough delights with me that you won’t want to miss out on. Everybody’s favorite bartender, Elizabeth Tacconi, has put together the most festive sugar cookie inspired martini for you to sip while you shop for sourdough. The Bad Santa will keep you feeling cozy and warm,” Sprinkled Sweets by Nichole owner Nichole Goodman wrote on Facebook. “This event is the perfect opportunity to do your Holiday shopping and shop local.”
Draisey noted that folks who stop into Lillie Mae will get to see the brand new store, plus try its signature chocolates and gourmet popcorn.
“Most Wanted Coffee will have a surprise,” she added. “The Salvation Army Thrift Store will have special sales on all merchandise, and C Eye Care will have Craig (Ragland’s) usual delightful set up.”
The kids’ activity features a passport that may be picked up at Lille Mae or The Salvation Army (free to participate).
“The passport will have nine holiday characters. Each of those characters would be placed somewhere inside the business or outside on a window. Kids would go around and check off when they find each character,” she noted. “When they have their passport filled out, they take it to Santa at Hermanson where they will get a little ornament craft and candy cane.”
Attendees can stroll through sparkly lights, sip on a beverage and explore what these stores and pop-ups have to offer, while being serenaded by mTunes Quartet from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Draisey added that shopping locally keeps dollars in the district.
“It falls under our mission to create that village within the city, and that is what we love to see,” she said. “Save the date for Sep. 11, 2026, for Harvest Market, and we’ll be announcing other fun, great events in the coming year.”
The 13th Street District is a non-profit that reinvests funds back into the district. Currently, all the storefronts are spoken for. The former site of Lillie Mae is a yet to be announced business opening in 2026. To learn more, reach out at: 13thstmtown@gmail.com.
