Dorothy was born August 11, 1924, to Henry and Rose Muschick in State Center, Iowa, where she lived and completed high school.

She married Elmer C. Fricke in State Center, Iowa and had 4 sons, John (Karen) Fricke of East Lansing, Michigan; Steve (Karen) Fricke of Plano, Texas; Charles (Katherine) Fricke of Ankeny, Iowa; and E. Carl Fricke.

After almost 50 years of marriage, Elmer died in Pinedale, Wyoming in 1993. In 1997 Dorothy married Nelson Parrish and lived in Riverton, Wyoming from 1993 until his passing in 2012. Dorothy is survived by her 4 sons, 3 daughters-in-law, 7 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
