Lynn was born March 15, 1959, in Marshalltown to LaVerne and Helen (Shuler) Hand. She graduated from South Tama Community School, and Anthem College in Surgical Technology. She worked at Iowa Methodist Medical Center for many years, and currently worked for TJ Max. She enjoyed her work, had a memorable laugh and her smile could light up a room. Lynn loved her family and enjoyed cooking and home decorating.

Survivors include her parents: LaVerne and Helen Hand, of Tama; children: Derek Grayson, of Africa, Dustin Grayson, of Chicago, Christopher (Brenda) Grayson, of Kansas City, KS, Elizabeth Grayson, of Overland Park, KS; grandson, Christopher Avery; siblings: LaVerna (Don) Kellogg, of Montour; Tim (Pam) Hand, of Grimes; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
