Born Glenda Anita Warnell on December 7th, 1952, in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Richard and Betty (Buchanan) Warnell. She received her education in her hometown and later college at the Marshalltown Community College. Glenda was united in marriage to Robert Keith Schmidt, and even though their marriage ended, they were blessed with four children: Robert, Tony, Donny and Chrissy. Glenda treasured all of them and the grandchildren and great-grandchildren that they blessed her with. She was a CNA at Hawkeye Care Center and MMSC and enjoyed going to the casino, doing crossword puzzles and phone games.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Robert Schmidt, Jr., of Marshalltown, Tony (Kelly) Schmidt, of Allison, Donny (Nicki) Schmidt, of Marshalltown, and Chrissy Schmidt, of Eldora; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother Wayne (Latonya) Warnell, of Marshalltown, and many other family and friends.

In death, Glenda rejoined her parents and son, Willie Rhoades.
