Deanna was born July 21, 1947, in Ames the daughter of Clifford and Minnie (Klaver) Bates. She graduated from Ames High School in 1965 and AIB in 1967. On January 6, 1968, Deanna was united in marriage to Dennis Stone in Ames. She worked for Western Manufacturing Corporation as an accountant and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ames and the First Congregational Church in Marshalltown.

Deanna enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, golfing, boating and traveling.

Deanna is survived by her husband, Dennis, of Ames; her son Clint (Tawnya) Stone, of Robins, IA; her daughter, Dena Eischen, of Clive; her brother, Douglas (Connie) Bates, of Ames; four grandchildren: Caleb and Kaitlyn Stone and Kylie and Henry Eischen.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Clifford Bates.

Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday, June 25 at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 26 at the First United Methodist Church in Ames. Inurnment will be at the Roland Cemetery in Roland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Leukemia Lymphoma Society (LLS.org).
