Deanna Sue Nordstrom was born on January 8, 1950, in Boone, Iowa; she was the daughter of John F. and Bernadine (Scanlin) Nordstrom Sr. She attended school in the Marshalltown Community School District, graduating with the class of 1968. On June 27, 1970, Sue was united in marriage to Gary Lee Harrington at the First United Methodist Church in Marshalltown, Iowa. She had worked in the Dietary Department at the Iowa Veterans Home for a few years and then opened her daycare and cared for many, many children, and she loved all of them. While her children were in school she was very involved in the PTA. Sue was an artist and used many mediums to show her talents, including her homemade cards for all occasions. She was a great cook and prolific baker. Sue lived to share with others, putting everyone else first. She absolutely loved and adored her granddaughters and they were her #1.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 47 years, Gary, of Marshalltown; her children: Jeffrey Harrington, of Ames, Iowa, Patrick Harrington, of Nevada, Iowa, and Mary Jane Bethel, of Marshalltown, Iowa, and her #1 granddaughters, Gracelyn Sue Bethel and Elizabeth Jane Bethel, they were her “Sunshine.” Siblings: Nancy IntVeldt, of Highland, Indiana, John Nordstrom Jr., of State Center, Iowa, and Steve (Carla) Nordstrom, of Marshalltown, Iowa, and her nieces and nephews.

In death she rejoins her parents, John and Bernadine “Deanie” Nordstrom.
