Funeral services for Virgil Klaas, 79, of Clemons, Iowa, were held March 9, 2018, at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in State Center, where Father Rick Dagit officiated.
Pallbearers were Trevor Harding, Christopher Klaas, Mike Jackley, Jay Klaas, Kevin Klaas and Kerry Klaas.
Honorary pallbearers included (The late) Justin Klaas and (The late) Jason Spurlin, and the St. Mary’s Class of 1956.
He was laid to rest in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Haverhill, Iowa.
Groups in attendance included St. Mary’s Class of 1956, Catholic Order of Foresters, West Marshall Bus Drivers, Union Pacific Railroad, and St. Mary’s Funeral Choir, among others.
Mitchell Family Funeral Home was entrusted with the care of Virgil and his family.
