Marjorie Leise, 94
Marjorie Leise, 94, of Conrad, IA, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019, at Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad. Funeral Services will be 1:30 p.m., Thursday, April 25, 2019, at the Liscomb Church of Christ in Liscomb, IA. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m., until the time of the services, at the church. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown, IA. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Conrad Chapel of Anderson Funeral Homes. Memorials may be directed to Iowa River Hospice. Marjorie Emma was born April 29, 1924, in Dysart, IA, the youngest of three daughters born to Ed and Emma (Gross) Wurtzel. She graduated from Dysart High School in 1942 and from Iowa State Teachers College in 1944 with her teaching certificate. Marjorie taught fourth and fifth grades at the Liscomb School until she was united in marriage to G. Stanley Leise in 1947. They farmed in the rural Liscomb area until their retirement and moved to Conrad in 1992. Marjorie was a member of the Grumme Rebekah Lodge of Liscomb until its disbandment. She also served as Treasurer of the Ladies Aid Society of the Liscomb Church of Christ where she was a member.
Left to cherish Marjorie’s memory are her son, Steven (Jean) Leise, of Albion and her daughter, Janis Leise, of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren Pamela (Shannon) Cummins and Mark Leise; great granddaughters Sophia and Payton Cummins; sister Virginia Hupfeld, of Keystone, IA, six nieces and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Stanley and sister Lola Peterson.
