Diana was born on November 23, 1951, to the parents of Frank and Lois (Whittle) Swope in Columbus, Georgia. She graduated from college with a degree in nursing. She put that degree to good use by taking care of her patients and making them feel good even though it could be quite taxing on her. She was a caring person and would go out of her way to make sure anyone in need was well taken care of. She always had a positive attitude and when she walked into a room people knew she was the life of the party.

Music played a large roll in her life; singing in the church choir and also at many weddings and funerals for her dear friends. She encouraged many people to sing and to always have a song in your heart. She loved getting together with her high school reunion group and spending time reminiscing. Diana touched so many lives and will be missed by countless family and friends.

Left to cherish Diana’s memory is her husband, Jerry; son Shay (Jennifer) Hasselmann; grandchildren: Ryder, Hunter, Dona, Dulce, Day and Dejalina. Her siblings Sharon Swope, James Swope and Michael Swope, her mother Lois and the Whittle family in MO.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Deja and father Frank.
