Ramona Mae Rouse, 83

Ramona Mae Rouse, 83, of State Center, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at her home in State Center.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 24 at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada and a Rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 25 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (422 4th Street) in Colo with Father Rick Dagit officiating. Burial will follow at Murphy Cemetery in rural Nevada.

Ramona was born June 1, 1935, in Lemon, South Dakota, the daughter of Theodore David and Ida Ellen (Armstrong) Nelson. She graduated from Lisbon High School in 1952 and was united in marriage to Tom Rouse on September 12, 1953, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Lisbon. Ramona worked as a receptionist for the Colo Telephone Company and later went to work as an information specialist at the Iowa State Center retiring in 1999.

Ramona was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colo and enjoyed reading non-fiction. Above all, she loved to spend time with her family.

Ramona is survived by her husband, Tom, of State Center; her children: Mary Kathleen (Lonny) Flack, of Nevada; Ellen Kristine (Jack) Moel, of Lisbon, Thomas (Jeanette) Rouse, of Springfield, MO; her sister, Judy Donald, of Cedar Rapids; her brother, David (Suzanne) Nelson, of Lisbon; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Don Nelson and two grandsons: Carl Jason Stromberg and Bradley Christopher Flack.
