Daphne was born August 16, 1962, in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from Montezuma High school in 1981 and later relocated to Grinnell, Iowa, where she married William Battey. After moving to Marshalltown Daphne worked for TLC as a telemarketer for many years where she made lasting friendships. Daphne was passionate about reading, enjoyed cross stitch and word puzzles.

Daphne is survived by her mother, Shirley Dean; her children: Bradley Dean, Alicia Geddis and Cara Battey; her siblings: Dohn Dean and Delinda Etter; and her grandchildren Arianna, Killian, Kinzleigh Geddis, Ava Dean and Warren Roberts.
