Benjamin John Crooks was born July 8, 1943, to parents Lester and Irene Crooks in Butte, Montana. He moved to Tama as a child and graduated from high school there. Ben served in the U.S. Army, married Gloria Uchytil, and then moved to Marshalltown. Ben spent most of his career with the U.S. Postal Service.

Left to remember and cherish his memory are his daughter Angela Crooks; his grandchild Sofia Chasseloup; his sister Lola Rinnan; his brother George Uchytil and their families.

He was preceded in his death by his parents and his sister Betty.

Per Ben’s wishes, no formal services are planned at this time. His ashes will be placed in Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown.
