Joe was born to Loren and Bertha (Quigley) Alexander Dec. 4, 1952 in Toledo. He graduated with the class of 1971 from South Tama High School. In August 1971 he married Janet Plowman. He and Jan had one daughter, Stacey, who passed away in Jan. 2000.

Joe served honorably in the army 1972-74.

He retired in 2014 after 38 years working for Lennox Industries. Joe enjoyed reading and metal detecting with his best bud, Al.

Joe is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jan, a brother Bob (Pauline) of Tama, sisters Linda Cullor and Susan Tharp of Tama, special cousin Allan (Becky) Alexander of Toledo and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Stacey, his parents and a brother, Ray.
