Kathleen Kay (Smith) Russell and Charles Edward Russell, residents of Marshalltown, Iowa for most of their lives, were married September 2, 1961. They lived long, interesting, quiet lives, full of hard work, love of the natural world, and desire for a life of peaceful ease.

They were strongly individual, and yet shared a sense of what was right in life and how to live with aim and hope.

Their ashes were spread together at their favorite place on a beautiful day in May. The fish were jumping, the birds were raucous, the weather glorious – – they would’ve loved it.

They preferred no formal ceremonies. If you knew Kay or Chuck, step outside a moment to feel the sun or rain, smell the air, listen to the sounds and think of them.
