Born Jeanette Rae Boege, daughter of Vernon and Marlys (Harmsen) Boege on August 8, 1952, in Leesville, Louisiana. Her father Vernon was in the service at that time, and she was raised on the family farm in Garwin/ Gladbrook rural community, loving animals, especially her 4H calves. She graduated Garwin High School in 1970, and she continued her education at Marshalltown School of Nursing. Jeanette graduated in 1973 and became a registered nurse. She practiced nursing for 43 years before her retirement. Her love of this profession came from working in surgery. Jeanette married Dennis Cooper in 1973 and later divorced. To this union, her son Christopher Cooper was born.

She had many memories of being jokingly tormented by her two younger brothers Steven and Michael, watching her son Chris and grandson Dylan participating in a variety of sports. They both excelled in bowling, which were the highlights of her life.

Family members, Chris, Dylan, Steve and Mike, etc. have unselfishly supported and cared for Jeanette.

She enjoyed flowers, antiques, and watching T.V. She was also an avid Iowa and Iowa State fan.

Per Jeanette’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded, and no formal services have been scheduled at this time. Interment will be at Crystal Cemetery in Toledo, Iowa at a later date. She is survived by her son Chris; grandson Dylan; brothers: Steven (Karen) Boege and Michael (Mary) Boege; several nieces and nephews; and Aunt Eileen Price.

Jeanette is preceded in death by her parents: Vernon and Marlys; her grandparents: Henry & Lillie Boege and Alfred & Mildred Harmsen; and her niece: Melissa Boege.
