Funeral services for Dennis will be held on Saturday, March 7th, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be on Friday, March 6th, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family. Dennis Shultz was born on November 28, 1942 in Marshalltown. He was the son of Alfred and Mamie (Jubeck) Shultz. Dennis graduated from LeGrand High School in 1960. He served his country honorably in the United States Army, from July of 1964 until his honorable discharge on July 4th, 1966, with a deployment to Vietnam. On November 15, 1969, Dennis was united in marriage to Mary Ann (Jennings) in Marshalltown. Dennis worked thirty-eight years for Fisher Controls, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the VFW Post 839, American Legion Post 46 and the UAW Local 893. Dennis was also a member of the NRA and Iowa River Gun Club. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, golfing, fishing, and camping, especially on getaways to Lake Ponderosa, Lake Pepin in Minnesota, and Canada. Dennis also made sure to make it to many activities his children or grandchildren had.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 56 years: Mary Ann. Children: Kara (Todd) Schnathorst of Conrad and Brian (Megan) Shultz of Conrad. Grandchildren: Lane Schnathorst, Marissa Schnathorst, Chloe Shultz and Owen Shultz. He is also survived by his siblings: Donna Lynch of Mesa, Arizona and Dwayne (Maxie) Shultz of Marshalltown, along with multiple nieces, nephews and extended family.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents: Alfred and Mamie Shultz, brother-in-law Darwin Lynch, and his beloved dog- Buddy.
