Make your holiday picnic delicious

Today I have some recipes for your July 4 picnic.

Potato Salad

8 med. potatoes

6 eggs

1/2 to 1 medium onion, chopped

2 to 3 dill pickles, chopped

3/4 to1 c. mayonnaise

1/2 to 2 Tbls, mustard

1/2 tp 1 tsp. dill pickle juice or vinegar

dash salt

dash pepper

Boil potatoes and eggs until done. Peel both. Cube potatoes and chop the eggs. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. This can be served immediately, but is always better after it has been chilled several hours to blend the flavors.

Sweet and Spicy Baked Beans Recipe

3 cans (1 lb. each) plain pork and beans

1/4 c. packed brown sugar

1 tsp. ground dry mustard

1 tsp. ground ginger

2 tsp. cinnamon

1/4 c. catsup (optional)

Mix everything together, making sure the sugar dissolves. Bake at 350 degrees for at least 30 minutes.

Orange Sherbet Dessert

1 largw box or 2 regular boxes orange Jell-O

2 c. boiling water

1 pt. orange sherbet, softened

1 20 oz can crushed pineapple, drained

2 small cans Mandarin oranges, drained

2 bananas, sliced

In a large bowl, dissolve the Jello-O in the boiling water. Add sherbet and stir until melted. After sherbet is melted, add the fruit. Refrigerate until firm.
