Get signed up for preschool!

The Marshalltown Community School District has preschool classrooms in all six elementary schools. Students who are four years old by Sept. 15 or who are three and have an Individualized Education Program can attend the half-day programs, five days a week. The MCSD also partners with four local programs to offer a range of options through the Statewide Voluntary Preschool Program — Bobcat Academy, MICA/Head Start, St. Francis, and the YMCA/YWCA.

All of the MCSD classrooms are in their first year of using the Frog Street Curriculum. This research-based, early childhood curriculum focuses on the whole child. Our teachers participated in professional development to learn about the nine highly engaging themes that have music and movement, literacy, math, practice centers, and more!

Each child is served a free breakfast or lunch each day. There are no registration fees or tuition for preschool. Busing may be available to those who qualify as well. Families interested in learning more about preschool options should reach out to Emily Banks at (641) 754-1000 or ebanks@marshalltown.ia.us. Sign-up for the 2023-2024 school year is open!
