I recently had the honor and pleasure of attending Marshalltown Police Department’s Citizen Police Academy and came away with some very strong impressions. First, our community is very lucky to have Chief Mike Tupper as the leader of our police department. He is clearly a progressive, intelligent and sensible person. Secondly, I was appalled by the current workspace that our police department is using and gratified that they will soon be moving to a much more appropriate building. Lastly, I was very impressed by the level of professionalism and dedication that I observed across the board in our police department.

I would strongly recommend this experience to anyone who has an interest in law enforcement, and especially to anyone who may have a skeptical or hostile attitude toward our police department. This experience might just give participants a different perspective.
