I would like to say I consider myself an Independent because I vote for who I think is the best candidate. I am registered as a Democrat because I wanted to vote in the Iowa caucus.

It is even more obvious to me since the general election in 2020 we have a new political party. I would like to call it the “Trump Puppets” party. I thought the politicians who voted to acquit Trump in his first impeachment hearing should have considered themselves “Trump Puppets.” I emailed Grassley and Ernst and told them at that time they were nothing more than “Trump Puppets.” I received canned letters from both of them that said Trump should not be impeached. What a bunch of bull! I also cannot believe senior “Trump Puppets” said Trump had learned his lesson. We all know that didn’t happen.

Since November, this “Trump Puppets” party has gotten worse with them believing the lies from Trump and his lawyers that the election was stolen. Even with the electoral college confirming the outcome of the election, Trump continued lying, hoping his militant voters would do something. Meanwhile the Congressional “Trump Puppets” did nothing to stop this. These 199 in Congress and 50 in the Senate voted against the electoral college results. Even after their lives were threatened on Jan. 6, Cruz and Hawley still pushed against the election outcome.

I feel the 11 true Republicans in Congress and the seven in the Senate should be applauded and not censured by their state party officials. It should be the other way around. These “Trump Puppets” are more afraid of Trump than for their own lives. To me, Trump is no more than a Mafia boss or dictator. I cannot believe flip-floppers McCarty and Graham are loyal to Trump. One week they condemn Trump for his actions and the next week, they’re asking for his support.

I remember when Trump was running for President that he was going to “drain the swamp” in Washington. Instead, he turned that swamp into quicksand, which sucked a majority of the Republican party into the “Trump Puppets” party. I would really like these “Trump Puppets” to explain to me what he has on you to continue to support him and his lies. My only hope now is the criminal justice system will find him guilty for what happened on Jan. 6 and lock him up!
