Tired of Afghanistan criticism
I am so tired of all the criticism I am still hearing about our withdrawal from Afghanistan.
I think it was a miracle we got so many out without a “mass massacre.” I had two dear young friends serving in the Army, Eddie and Rachel, at the time guarding civilians as they departed. I was so fearful for their lives too.
Yet today on CNN they brought up again the military equipment left behind — it was my understanding it was clearly damaged and unusable — and would have cost a lot to remove. Far more important, at the time, was saving lives, not equipment. Saving lives of those who were able to make it to the airport, that is.
I would ask that we praise rather than criticize.
