It’s my body

It’s my body. From the moment dad’s sperm penetrates mom’s egg, I am unique and self-directed. It’s my body. I’m a boy. Mom is a girl.

It’s my body. My blood type is different than mom’s. It’s my body. When I get to the uterus, I produce my placenta and umbilical cord, not mom.

It’s my body. When I implant, I set off a process that keeps mom’s immune system from rejecting me as a foreign object. It’s my body.

Mom’s heart and liver and pancreas and all her organs are part of her body. The nuclei of the cells of these tissues have the same genetic code. But not me.

It’s my body and I have my own unique code. It’s my body. Mom can choose whether I continue to live or die. It’s my body; but I have no choice. Please, mom, choose life.
