The Emergency Food Box Board is taking time to evaluate 2025 and plan for 2026. The Board wants to thank the community for their support. The community has embraced this mission with many caring volunteers and the resources needed to carry out our mission. In the fall of 1981, the churches of Marshalltown formed a committee called, “Churches United for Compassion and Concern.” This committee studied the needs of Marshalltown residents. After study and careful planning, the Emergency Food Box (EFB) became a reality. In May 1983 the EFB began serving the food needs of the Marshalltown Community. With God’s blessing the EFB has met the changing needs of those who need help with food for 42 years. The EFB Board thanks all of those who help to make this mission a success with their donations of time, talent, and treasure.
