The big scam

The Bible is the only book in humanity’s historical record in which history isn’t written after the fact, but in advance. The world leaders are talking about a global reset, that is to start over with new rules. By what rules will the world be run, and who gets to choose? Thus enters the Paris Climate Accord, the biggest scam ever perpetrated on mankind. I am not saying we don’t have climate change, we have always had change and always will. God says in Genesis 8:22, “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not ...

Response to Hardin County voters can’t be bought

I have never met the author of this letter, but I did want to respond to her since it is clear that clarification is needed. Ms. Inks believes that campaign donations are for personal use. No idea where she gets this idea, but I can assure you that the Iowa Ethics and Campaign Disclosure Board would not take kindly to anyone using campaign donations for a couple semesters at Ellsworth or a down payment on a car. I do appreciate her letting everyone know that I have received a lot of support from Hardin County citizens though. Thanks Emma! Secondly, Ms. Inks doesn’t understand how a ...

A few thoughts on upcoming election

With the final days of this election event closing in, I would like to offer a few thoughts about the following: The race between Sue Cahill and David Blom has been an excellent example of fair and civil discourse between the two. Each has much to offer the community. I think the final issue is somewhat beyond both of them — the current makeup of the Iowa house and chances for internal progress on many things Iowa needs. Voters have a choice of how fast some things may get done, giving David Blom a slight edge here. But whomever you vote for, you’re getting honesty and quality for ...

Sue Cahill is a quality leader

For years as teacher, I have taught students in my classes about quality work. What is looks like in its various forms. How to achieve it in daily work and assignments so that it shows up clearly on tests and final drafts of writing assignments. Sue Cahill is quality leader for Marshall County in state legislature. How do I know? Sue has been an educational leader in the Marshalltown School District for years. She started as a classroom teacher working diligently to become a quality teacher and help other teachers in her building do the same. She went on to be a quality ...

Support Sue Cahill for another term

I’m writing to express my full support for Sue Cahill in the upcoming election. Sue has my vote! She’s been a long-standing member of our community, dedicating many years in education and in our community. After attending the recent candidate forum and hearing both candidates’ responses, it was clear to me that Sue truly knows District 52 and has the insight needed to make the best decisions for us at the state capital. As she seeks another term in the Iowa House of Representatives, her experience and understanding of our community will continue to serve us well. Sue truly ...

Empty promises

He promised to cut the deficit. He added $8T. He promised to build a wall. He only did 458 miles out of 2,000. Most of it was repair or replacement, not new. He promised to make Mexico pay for that wall. They didn’t. We the people did. He promised to unveil a new healthcare plan. It didn’t exist. He promised a middle-class tax cut. He cut taxes for the rich. The middle class is paying for it still. He said he wouldn’t play golf as President. He made 250 visits (way more than Obama) to his own golf clubs. It cost taxpayers $150 million. He said he’d increase economic ...
