Area trio selected to IGCA all-district teams

The all-district teams for the Iowa Girls’ Coaches Association have been announced and a trio of area girls made the list.

South Tama County senior Jessica Musgrave was named to the Class 3A Southeast team, her third-straight all-district honor. Gladbrook-Reinbeck senior Taylor Gienger was named to the 1A North Central team for her first ever selection, and East Marshall junior Olivia Terrones was named to the 2A Central team for her first honor of her career.

Musgrave finished her final season with the Trojans by averaging 14.6 points per game to lead the team. She had 97 steals, which ranked second in 3A, and she averaged a team-high 7.4 rebounds per game. Musgrave will be continuing her basketball career at Upper Iowa University next season.

Gienger became the second-ever Rebel to score over 1,000 points in her career this year. She averaged 16.1 points to lead G-R, and she had a team-high 80 steals and 45 assists. Gienger also set a new career high with 29 points in a game against North Tama on Jan. 26.

Terrones led the Mustangs in scoring with 16.7 points per game, and she had a team-high 55 assists and 55 steals. Terrones also set a new career high with 29 points against Gladbrook-Reinbeck on Feb. 2.
