NEWTON — Project leaders are planning to announce a new, state-of-the-art sports complex on Wednesday at the Iowa Speedway.

Newton, Project Fastpitch, and Speedway leaders have scheduled a press conference for 10 a.m. to present plans to build a one-of-a-kind youth sports venue that will bring up to a quarter million people annually to central Iowa.

The project was conceived in hopes of providing a complex that can host numerous tournaments without concern for weather and the ability to offer multiple indoor fields and outdoor diamonds all at one facility.
