Hall earns second-straight Big 12 Newcomer honor
IRVING, Texas — For the second week in a row, Iowa State running back Breece Hall was honors as the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week.
The true freshman ran for 183 yards and two touchdowns in Iowa State’s 34-24 win over Texas Tech.
The Wichita, Kan,. native is the first true freshman in school history with back-to-back 100-yard rushing game.
Hall also caught three for 73 yards against the Red Raiders to accumulate 256 all-purpose yards which is tied for fourth-best output in FBS this season. Hall’s all-purpose yards is the highest total by a Cyclone since Ennis Haywood posted 284 all-purpose yards against Baylor in 2000.
Hall is also the first Cyclone to have a 50-plus-yard rushing and reception touchdown in the same game since 1971.
In the last two games, Hall is averaging 157.5 all-purpose yards, seven-yards per carry and has five touchdowns.
Iowa State will host Oklahoma State with kickoff set for 2:30 p.m.
