Third quarter dooms MHS
DES MOINES — A wasted third quarter prevented Marshalltown boys’ basketball from getting a fourth-straight victory, as the Bobcats fell 77-71 to Des Moines Lincoln on Friday.
Marshalltown had a 35-28 lead at the halftime break, but in the third quarter saw that lead evaporate and turn into as much as an 11-point deficit which became too much to fully overcome.
The Bobcats were led by Prince Jallah, who led all scorers with 29 points. He also completed a double-double with 14 rebounds. Armonniey Thomas and Drake Kapayou scored 13 points apiece and Isaiah Borgos scored 10.
Up next for Marshalltown is a Class 4A Substate 8 game against Des Moines Roosevelt on Monday at 7 p.m. at the Roundhouse.
