MASON CITY — The Marshalltown girls’ golf team finished in the middle of an Iowa Alliance Conference triangular on Tuesday over the front nine holes at Highland Park Golf Course.

The Bobcats shot a 195 team score to trail Ames (185) while defeating host Mason City (220).

MHS sophomore Natalie Henson emerged as the meet medalist with a 1-over-par round of 38. She was four strokes ahead of Emerson Motl of Ames (42). Henson birdied the par-5 first hole and followed with two bogeys and six pars the rest of the way.

Fellow Bobcat sophomore Gaby Estabrook was the third finisher in the North Division triangular, shooting a 45.

Autumn Thompson (55) and Harper Wilson (57) rounded out Marshalltown’s team scoring. Kinsley Bowie (62) and Anessa Morrison (63) also competed for the Bobcats.

Marshalltown hosts the Linda Bloom Invitational today starting at 10 a.m. at the American Legion Memorial Golf Course.
