First two rounds in Iowa City sold out

IOWA CITY — The NCAA First- and Second-Round sessions, featuring the University of Iowa, Holy Cross/UT Martin, Princeton and West Virginia women’s basketball teams, set for Saturday and Monday in Carver-Hawkeye Arena are officially sold out.

The announcement was made Monday by the UI Athletics Department. Tickets for the First Four game featuring Holy Cross against UT Martin remain available.

No. 1-seed Iowa will take on the winner of 16-seeds Holy Cross and UT-Martin, which will take place in Iowa City on Thursday. The Hawkeyes (29-4) will face the winner of the play-in game on Saturday at 2 p.m. That game will be televised on ABC.

Carver-Hawkeye Arena will also host a first-round matchup between eighth-seeded West Virginia and ninth-seeded Princeton on Saturday. The winner of the first-round games will meet on Monday.
