Comets clip South Hardin boys on fifth-score tiebreaker
ELDORA — The BCLUW boys’ golf team defeated host South Hardin on the fifth-score tiebreaker after both teams shot a 167 at Thursday’s quadrangular meet at Pine Lake Country Club.
The Comets were led by Nate Bishop, who shared the lowest round of the day with a 4-over-par 39 that earned him runner-up honors. East Marshall’s Cody Weaver claimed medalist honors on a cardback after shooting a 39 as well.
BCLUW’s four scoring golfers all finished 11th or better, led by Bishop’s second-place medal. Mason Martin shot 41, Bodie Butler carded a 43 and Zaden Eggers shot 44 to bring the Comets to their 167 total. The team’s fifth score — Beau Towne’s 46 — was four shots better than its South Hardin counterpart.
Behind BCLUW and South Hardin’s 167, Colo-NESCO claimed third with a 182 and East Marshall finished fourth at 185.
Austin Hennick led the Royals by finishing third with a 41.
East Marshall got contributing scores from Jackson Bidwell (43), Cade Burchland (50), and matching 53s from Wyatt Stalzer, Gage Searle and Austin Crandon.
