Yonger Bastida

AMES — Iowa State heavyweight Yonger Bastida has been added to the 2024 National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) All-Star Classic on Nov. 16. Bastida will be matched up against Ohio State’s Nick Feldman, who placed fifth at the NCAA Championships in March.

Iowa State will now be represented by two wrestlers at the event as Bastida joins Evan Frost (133) on the card. The All-Star Classic will begin at 6 p.m. inside Rec Hall on the campus of Penn State.

Bastida and Feldman both enter the 2024-25 season ranked in the top 10 by FloWrestling, Bastida at No. 6 and Feldman No. 3.

Bastida compiled a 26-2 record last season with both losses occurring on Friday of the NCAA Championships.
