The Marshalltown Bobcats 13U baseball team recently finished in third place in the Class A Elite Gold Championship bracket at the 2025 Iowa State Tournament at Coralville Creekside Ballpark in Coralville. The Bobcats went 2-0 in pool play by beating the NI Rattlers (Garner), 9-1, and the Rams Grey (Altoona), 11-4, to earn the second seed for bracketed play. In the quarterfinals, the Bobcats scored a dramatic walk-off win over the Sigourney Sluggers, 9-8 in nine innings, before falling to the Quad City Heat Black (Davenport) 15-1 in the semifinals. The Bobcats finished the summer with a 16-12 overall record while going 16-8 against Class A competition.
