CEDAR FALLS — Northern Iowa guard Trey Campbell has been named to the Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook’s Preseason All-Missouri Valley Conference.

The publication, compiled by sports writer Chris Dotch, also picked the Panthers to finish second out of 11 teams in the MVC standings for the upcoming season.

Campbell, who enters his senior season, earned third-team all-MVC honors last year after averaging 11.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.5 blocks per game. He led the Panthers in both assists and steals.

Starting all 33 games for UNI a year ago, Campbell shot 41.5% from the field and led the team in 3-point shooting (42.9%). He also shot 80.9% from the free-throw line. He notably earned MVC Player of the Week honors on Jan. 13 after scoring a career-high 30 points with eight 3-pointers in a win at Illinois State.
