Multi-Community Market Season launched

RHODES — A new collaborative farmers market initiative is bringing local vendors, small businesses and communities together across central Iowa this summer and fall.

The Heart of Iowa Farmers Market is a traveling farmers market featuring more than 20 local vendors and rotating between the communities of Rhodes, State Center, Collins and Colo. The market will be held twice monthly throughout the season, creating opportunities for residents and visitors to shop local while experiencing the unique character of each host community.

The market season kicks off on June 6 in Rhodes, with each host community adding its own special touch to create a distinctive experience for attendees.

“We are incredibly excited to launch the first season of the Heart of Iowa Farmers Market,” said Chris Buck, president of the Heart of Iowa Farmers Market. “This market represents something bigger than just a place to shop. It’s a collaboration between neighboring communities that share a commitment to supporting local businesses, local growers, makers, and entrepreneurs. By working together, we’re creating more opportunities for vendors while giving residents a reason to explore and support the communities throughout the Heart of Iowa region.”

The Heart of Iowa Farmers Market was created with the goal of expanding opportunities for local vendors while strengthening connections between participating communities. Vendors will have the opportunity to reach customers across multiple towns throughout the season, while shoppers can enjoy a variety of locally produced goods, handmade items, fresh produce, baked goods, artisan products, and more.
